A variety of materials are suitable for injection molding. These materials have their own characteristics and can be selected according to the specific needs of the product. The following are some common materials suitable for injection molding:


ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer): characteristics: tough, impact-resistant, good chemical corrosion resistance and low shrinkage.


Application: Widely used in the shells of automobiles, household appliances and electronic equipment, etc.


PC (polycarbonate): Characteristics: high impact resistance, high transparency and good dimensional stability.


Application: Suitable for making lenses, mobile phone shells, electrical components and vehicle front and rear lights, dashboards, etc. in the transportation industry.


PA (polyamide, nylon): Characteristics: high mechanical strength, toughness and wear resistance.


Application: It is suitable for making wear-resistant parts such as bearings and gears, as well as the shells of automobiles, TVs, refrigerators and other electrical appliances.


POM (polyformaldehyde): Characteristics: high hardness, rigidity and excellent wear resistance.

PEI (polyether imide): Characteristics: high temperature and flame retardant, while having excellent strength, dimensional stability and chemical resistance.


Application: It is often used in occasions that require high temperature resistance and flame retardancy.


In addition, polystyrene (PS) and polyethylene (PE) are also common injection molding materials. Polystyrene has the characteristics of good optical performance, excellent electrical properties, easy molding and processing and good coloring performance, but it has low heat resistance and poor acid resistance; while polyethylene is a polymer material commonly used in daily life, which is widely used in the manufacture of plastic bags, plastic films and other products.


When choosing injection molding materials, it is necessary to consider the performance requirements of the product (such as mechanical strength, heat resistance, chemical resistance, etc.), processing cost and usability. At the same time, different materials may require different process parameters and equipment conditions in the process of injection molding, so they also need to be selected and optimized according to the specific situation.
